Transport for London (TfL) FREEDOM PASS

A Freedom Pass allows older, disabled and blind people to travel free on London buses, trains and underground.

Introduction

Freedom Passes allow older and eligible disabled people who live in a London borough to travel free on London's public transport network.

The pass is paid for by your local borough council and is available from either your local Post Office or town hall.

National Rail services (including London Overground)

You can travel at ANY TIME on London Overground services and from 09:30 on weekdays (or at any time on certain routes as shown on the Freedom Pass map) and at any time on weekends and public holidays.

Please note, Freedom Passes are not valid on train services operated by National Express East Coast, East Midlands Trains, Virgin Trains, Gatwick Express, Heathrow Express, on Heathrow Connect between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow, or for first class travel.

For travel beyond the Freedom Pass area you must buy a separate extension ticket before you travel. Please show your pass at the ticket office when buying tickets.

London Underground, DLR, Buses and Tramlink.

You can travel free at any time.

Travelling with Children?

If you are travelling on the Tube/DLR/London Overground from 0930 Mondays-Fridays, or at anytime at the weekend/public holidays, you can take up to four under-11s with you for free.

How do I use my Freedom Pass?

You must touch your pass flat on the yellow card reader at the gates at the beginning and end of your journey.
