PLUSBUS - Train and Bus without the fuss...
Add unlimited bus travel around town to your train ticket – from just £1.60 a day.
What is PLUSBUS?
It's a discount price ticket for unlimited bus travel around town (like a 'bus pass') that you buy with your train ticket. So you pay for your complete train and bus journey in one easy transaction.
PLUSBUS is available to 240 towns and cities across Britain. You can change between train and bus services with PLUSBUS at over 300 railway stations nationwide.
How does PLUSBUS work?
Ask for PLUSBUS when buying your train ticket, for unlimited bus travel around town on all participating bus operators' services. Your bus travel can be at the start, the end, or both parts of your train journey. For each town there is one zone that covers the whole urban area. With your PLUSBUS ticket you can travel as much as you like on all participating buses within the zone.
PLUSBUS can be added to most types of twalk up and Advance train tickets:
- single
- day return
- period return
- season ticket (for set periods to match your train season ticket: 7 days, 1 month, 3 months and 1 year)
How much does PLUSBUS cost?
To add unlimited bus travel around town to your train ticket, prices start from £1.60 a day - most PLUSBUS tickets cost around £2 to £3 a day.
Where do I buy PLUSBUS?
Simply ask for PLUSBUS when buying your train ticket at the station or by phone. It can save you money and is more convenient than buying separate tickets. What's more you can pay with cash, credit or debit card.
You can buy PLUSBUS at:

- self-service ticket machines (at selected stations only)
- by phone with some train Company telesales teams
New PLUSBUS Destinations
From 7 September 2008, four more rail-served towns will have PLUSBUS available: Eastleigh, Nelson & Colne, Scunthorpe and Yeovil
From the same date six existing PLUSBUS served towns will start offering season tickets to rail commuters, including: Aberystwyth, Bangor, Benfleet (includes Canvey Island), Rayleigh, Southend and Wrexham (includes Ruabon).
